Through the PeaceJam Foundation, these Nobel Laureates share their wisdom and teach youth how to become future leaders of peace.

A Day Without Hate

Day Without Hate

This Emmy-Award winning short film showcases 15 years of student-led efforts to promote peace and nonviolence in schools. Founded in Colorado after the Columbine school shooting, their grassroots initiative has grown from one school to 35 states and 7 countries worldwide.

 

The students' work has been recognized with the "Global Call to Action" Award, presented by 15 Nobel Peace Laureates.

Immokalee: My Home

Immokalee: My Home

This Emmy-Award winning short film highlights a decades-long housing crisis in Immokalee, a Southwest Florida agricultural community, where 40% of the population lives below the poverty line. 

 

A collaborative initiatives in the seeks to address this crisis through affordable housing, early childhood education, and supportive programs to help migrant farm workers and families thrive.

Limbo

Limbo

A Cannes Festival Short Corner Selection, this award-winning true-fiction short film follows a young, idealistic, home healthcare worker.  Under-trained and underpaid, he enters hidden worlds in homes to administer care to a delicate but dynamic elderly men living alone.

 

The narrative debut of director Lotje Sodderland (Emmy-nominated My Beautiful Broken Brain | Netflix), features actual patients, not actors.

Shirin Ebadi: Until We Are Free

Shirin Ebadi:
Until We Are Free

The first Muslim woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, Shirin Ebadi has inspired millions around the globe through her work as a human rights lawyer defending women and children against a brutal regime in Iran.

 

Until We Are Free tells her story of courage and defiance in the face of a government out to destroy her family and her mission: to bring justice to the people and the country she loves.

Children of the Light features the life story of 1984 Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and the crucial role he played in bringing about the civil rights movement in South Africa.

 

The film also highlights work of five young activists and leaders who were inspired and formed by the example of Desmond Tutu, and who are now creating social change in their own communities.

Rocketman is a 2019 biographical jukebox musical drama film based on the life, music and career of British musician Elton John. 

 

This Rocketman Premier honored the work of Elton John's first manager Ray Williams with the Official Signed Proclamation from Governor Cooper. An audience Q & A with Ray and the film festival founders followed the film screening.
