The PeaceJam Foundation is led by 14 Nobel Peace Laureates. Through their Nobel Legacy Film Series, documentaries highlighting their work to create a better future for all of humanity. Each feature length documentary premiers at the Monte Carlo Festival and Venice Film Festival and are available on DVD and online at Amazon, Vimeo, and Google Play. The films are a permanent part of the PeaceJam's award-winning youth development curriculum that is implemented globally, inspiring youth to take action to address the most pressing issues of our time. Peacejam has been nominated 18 times for the Nobel Peace Prize.
SHIRIN EBADI: UNTIL WE ARE FREE
The first Muslim woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, Shirin Ebadi has inspired millions around the globe through her work as a human rights lawyer defending women and children against a brutal regime in Iran. "Until We Are Free" tells her story of courage and defiance in the face of a government out to destroy her, her family, and her mission: to bring justice to the people and the country she loves.
SOCIAL IMPACT PROJECT & OUTCOMES
Designed and authored The Nobel Legacy Film Series educational "Official Film Guide for Study & Discussion" for the film "Shirin Ebadi: Until We Are Free". The film guides are distributed as part of Peacejam's educational curriculum to over 1.5 million students, and distributed worldwide through the films' screening licenses providing a resource for viewers, students, film attendees and facilitators.
